Slimbook, in collaboration with KDE, has introduced the latest innovation in their lineup, the KDE Slimbook Plasma VI. This ultrabook is equipped with an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS processor, offers up to 96GB of RAM, and boasts a larger 80wh battery.
At the heart of the KDE Slimbook Plasma VI lies an AMD Ryzen 8845HS CPU, which has 8 cores and 16 threads, peaks at 5.1GHz, and includes a 24MB cache. It features an integrated AMD Radeon 780M GPU with 12 cores based on the RDNA 3 architecture. Additionally, the device includes a neural processing unit capable of delivering up to 10 TOPS, which enhances its performance in local AI workflows.
The ultrabook is built with a full aluminum body and comes in a fresh “Blue Space” color. Key specifications include up to 96GB of DDR5 5600MHz RAM that is non-soldered, a 16-inch anti-glare IPS display sporting a 16:10 ratio, 2K resolution (2560x1600px), brightness of 400 nits, full sRGB coverage, and a 165Hz refresh rate. Linux ultrabook enthusiasts will appreciate these advanced features.
Additional features include a backlit keyboard integrated with a numeric pad and dedicated Fn keys for various work modes, a large 6.2-inch multi-touch touchpad, a quad-speaker system featuring two tweeters, dual high-performance dynamic fans, an HD 720P 1.0 MP webcam, and an upgraded 83wh battery.

Connectivity-wise, the Linux laptop features Realtek Wi-Fi 6 AX wireless, Bluetooth 5.2, two USB-A 3.2 Gen1 [5Gbps] ports, two USB-C 3.2 Gen2 [10Gbps] ports with DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery 100W, one USB-A 3.2 Gen2 [10Gbps] port, an HDMI port, and a 3.5mm combo 2-in-1 audio jack (headphones and microphone).
As expected, the new KDE Slimbook laptop comes pre-installed with the latest and greatest KDE Plasma 6.1 desktop environment on top of the KDE neon 6 distribution, which gives users everything they need to work, communicate, and enjoy their downtime.
