The update also brings notable improvements to Collabora’s NVK graphics driver for NVIDIA GPUs. This includes support for several new Vulkan extensions such as VK_EXT_descriptor_buffer, VK_EXT_post_depth_coverage, and VK_KHR_dynamic_rendering_local_read.
Additionally, the RADV Radeon Vulkan driver has been updated to support several Vulkan extensions including VK_KHR_video_maintenance1 and VK_KHR_pipeline_binary. The Intel ANV Vulkan driver is also receiving upgrades with support for additional extensions aimed at improving performance.
On the OpenGL side, notable advancements are made across various drivers, including support for the GL_KHR_shader_subgroup extension in the RadeonSI driver for legacy AMD Radeon GPUs, along with improvements in other drivers like Collabora’s Panfrost and Zink drivers.
Mesa 24.3 addresses performance issues for numerous popular video games, including titles such as Black Myth: Wukong, Red Dead Redemption 2, Resident Evil 6, and Total War WARHAMMER II.
The updated graphics stack is expected to be available in the stable repositories for various Linux distributions shortly, but users can download the source tarball from the announcement page now.
